One of the boys on my team that I trained with (I am not a hurdler) was top 10 in the state in the 110m hurdles. He also runs the 300 hurdles and qualified for the state championship in the event. He says that the 300 is a tiring race, but it is one that he will get up from and rebound quite easily. One time he was sent to an invitational event to run the 400 meter hurdles. No one, other than Durant, does more than one thing at a level you could call great, and he's the only player you could legitimately argue is the best player in the world at his position. Embiid and Jokic are the two best centers. Curry and Harden are the two best point guards. Paul George is the best shooting guard. Davis is the best power forward…and none of them are on this roster. I am paraphrasing here. Jigoro Kano eliminated certain ground fighting aspects for Judo as a sport as he wanted Judo to be in the Olympics, but the ground fighting part was considered boring and there wasn't a set scoring system for it, so Olympic Judo was a style that developed which focused on the aspect of Judo you see today in the Olympics. The board responsible for the Olympics find it boring. Grappling has a lot of science to it, but the usual public individual at the Olympics or even the board committee don't fully understand submissions and transitions in ground fighting, because of which it is still not in the Olympics. Wrestling was even about to be removed from the Olympics at one point I heard Dan Gable saying this in an interview once.
