  Cats can get along well with others. It’s harder, though, when they are on the street because they have to fight for everything….food, shelter, protecting their life and/or the lives of any kittens that they might have nearby. So, when they happen upon another cat who they don’t know, they tend to not get along with them. You didn’t give a lot of details in your question, but this is what it sounds like to me. It can get aggravating, though, when two cats are fighting or even just yelling at each other when you’re trying to sleep. Maybe they will get on different schedules so that they aren’t accidentally coming across each other at the same time most nights. I wouldn’t hold my breath, though, since cats do love routines.   My first cat had a genetic gum disease. So did my husband’s chihuahua. They both received yearly cleanings. She had a red line of swollen infection along her upper gums. Animals disguise even extreme pain so they are not singled out to be abandoned and eaten. See your vet for an examination/cleaning. Also, add Oratene Pet Drinking Water additive to their water. My little girl had the exact same trait. It took her months to eat without selectively throwing out kibble and eating on only one side. In the meantime, give her wet food 4x daily, if possible.
