My first cat had a genetic gum disease

 My first cat had a genetic gum disease. So did my husband’s chihuahua. They both received yearly cleanings. She had a red line of swollen infection along her upper gums. Animals disguise even extreme pain so they are not singled out to be abandoned and eaten. See your vet for an examination/cleaning. Also, add Oratene Pet Drinking Water additive to their water. My little girl had the exact same trait. It took her months to eat without selectively throwing out kibble and eating on only one side. In the meantime, give her wet food 4x daily, if possible. Wet food is better for them for many reasons but can’t be left out for more than four hours.
