I licked it so it’s mine shirt
Jed Miller, I licked it so it’s mine shirt. You made a few points about things that are now illegal but surely you must understand that just because it’s illegal does not mean that systemic racial bias doesn’t happen every single day to millions of people in this country. Look no further than the very simple examples of white people all over the country calling the cops on black/Latino people just for existing and doing everyday things like napping in their dorm common room, having a BBQ, wearing a T-shirt, selling water etc. You don’t live it every day so it may be hard for you to understand that laws don’t protect people from everyday ordinary acts of racial prejudice the way you think they might. Saying “you have to work” is a fair comment if you have a level playing field. I don’t think the assertion that historically there has been a level playing field is true. And that screws up your starting point today. Sure some people can play catch-up and overcome the situation but not everyone. And it’s not fair to demand people work extra hard to get to the same point.

Peter, life isn’t fair. I licked it so it’s mine shirt Some people have to play catch up. Others don’t. This can easily be independent of skin colour. Some kids have lived in the trailer park and have divorced parents… Others have parents that do well and are still together. It’s inconceivable and impractical to think everyone is going to have the same start. That’s just utterly ridiculous. how is that not fair? Haha, race aside, is it not fair for you to pass on your wealth to your children? Even if that means that they have a better “starting point” then someone else? Sam Lorey: Passing wealth on to immediate children is no big deal. But when you start out with one generation being allowed or able to do this first the first time and others for many more, there’s momentum that has built up against the “new guys”. The “old guys” never had that. Typically is something that isn’t noticeable by average people but is most definitely noticeable when compared with the super wealthy.
